The Alta Group Leads IT and Office Equipment Leasing Company to $8 Million Loan for Expansion in Mexico

WASHINGTON, D.C., August 12, 2009 - A long-term advisory and services relationship between The Alta Group and a Mexican leasing company, has resulted in the funding of a $8 million loan to Docuformas, S.A.P.I. de C.V., a provider of lease financing for office and IT equipment in Mexico under a program of the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), a U.S. government agency that promotes U.S. investment in developing markets abroad.
Funded by WorldBusiness Capital, Inc. through negotiations advised by The Alta Group, the Docuformas Project will support expansion of Docuformas' leasing activities to Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs). The program is expected to produce a strong financial growth impact throughout Mexico, increasing the availability of funding in Mexico in addition to the existing domestic private credit currently available, said Rafael Castillo-Triana, managing principal of The Alta Group's Latin American Region.
Specifically, the program will help fill a financing gap for SMEs, which have been negatively affected by reduced liquidity available for equipment leasing. Downstream multiplier effects are expected to occur throughout the Mexican economy, said Castillo-Triana.
Docuformas' engaged the consulting services of The Alta Group to develop best industry practices in lease underwriting, lease administration, collections, and compliance procedures. The Alta Group was also engaged to help them expand their leasing business.
